History

A family-run firm, L&W Contractors was established by our managing director Dave Walton in 1986.

The first L&W office was based in Dave's house in Worthing before his family moved to Ashington. The business quickly outgrew the converted garage at the Walton family home and in the mid-90s it moved to Billingshurst – first to a farm, and then to purpose built offices and yard on the site of a former dairy, where it remains today.

The growth in premises is reflected the increase in equipment and machinery. L&W is now able to offer a variety of heavy plant – including a wide range of road/rail vehicles.

L&W has remained firmly in the family, with Dave working alongside his daughter Donna and son-in-law Greg. You can read more about the team here.

Recognised as one of the main suppliers to the rail industry in the South East, L&W's reputation for excellence and knowledge is well-known and alongside plant hire it also proudly offers training to those working in the rail industry.

Commitment, hard work, quality and professionalism are the foundations on which L&W is built and we are proud of our unmatched expertise in rail and construction, allowing us to provide a dedicated and unbeatable service to our clients.
